Wow, no more free 1/2 point? I've just been trying to pull out and I haven't played there since after the Superbowl. When did they stop the free 1/2 point?

Skybook Free Half Point

I don't know where Vikings gets his information but the truth is The Skybook free half point is still good for football (I know it's over) and available every Friday for basketball. On Fridays you can get free half points on the Saturday college basketball overnights. The overnights do not get posted until late on Friday nights but there is time to play.

Skybook Half Point rules:

Valid for straight wagers placed over the Internet only. Sides only.
Maximum wager $500.
Valid everyday in football and on Fridays only in basketball, once per game, per customer.
Does not apply to moving the line on or off the numbers 3 or 7 in football.
Not valid when buying points.

The half point was available for football all season and is scheduled to be back next season. My advice to you is don't use Skybook if you don't like the way they do business. I would rather see a book do something that is fiscally responsible and stay in business rather than give away the store to attract players. The free half point day in and day out in basketball was deemed not to be in the best interests of Skybook in the long run (it lost money). Management decided to at least give players a chance to get the free half point on the Saturday college basketball card by re-instating the free half point on Fridays. Some players take advantage of the opportunity every Friday, so basically there is still some half points in basketball available.

This must be this week's bash Skybook thread.

I will email Skybook for you and remind them that players need the NBA overnights to be up at least as long as the college overnights this week.

I guess this can be considered progress, last week Skybook was on the brink of closing up according to the experts. Now we are back to the no free half point argument. I don't mind books getting criticised when they deserve it but to flat out post something like there is no more free half point when that is 100% untrue is imo just plain wrong and does a lot of damage to books like Skybook who depend on sites like The Rx. to attract new players. Newbies see this kind of mis-information and quite natrually don't give the book in question a shot.

I love when you mods put your blinders on for skybook (but we all know who cuts the lunch checks around here)....

fact is, free 1/2 in football is worthless to any smart football gambler...the free half point is available for a couple hours every friday night for hoops (and as someone else pointed out NBA lines up at 1:30 in the morning)...Add in the fact that a US bettor can only withdraw by taking a 6-12 percent fee on their request (flat out absurd)!

You want to protect your book Wil but I'm just stating facts which every "newbie" should be aware of. Free 1/2 is all but extinct there and their fees for withdrawal are ludicrous!

this was not the case before Neteller went down Vikings, and you have not allowed them a reasonable amount of time to address this yet.

IMO its not a fair issue to bash on. Many books are having issues processing payouts, some books are simply telling USA customers that for the time being there are ZERO options and their players simply have to hang tight.

again, for a book that has done so much for the forum, I find it a terrible shame that you cannot give them a reasonable amount of time to adapt to the situation before slamming them. Thats just my opinion and it would be the same wether I was a MOD or not.

really? :ughhh:

So I guess it was also worthless for all the people that took New England in this game at SKYBOOK and got the push instead of a loss like everyone who took NEW ENGLAND at other books? WOW

I guess all the 100% Bonus Play bonuses they gave, and the 20-25% cash re-load bonuses were also worthless..... :ughhh:

personally, I have benefited from the SKYBOOK free half point MANY MANY times in the past, and I am sure I am not the only one.

Im not saying the shop is right for you vikings, maybe it isnt.... but to try to sell to us that they have not been a generous shop that has given a tremendous amont back to the community really makes my stomach turn, I consider it to be terribly unfair.... (JMHO)

I AGREE WITH VIKING, THAT IS A HUGE RAKE ON A PAYOUT.
--

MY TAKE:
ONCE AGAIN, how hard is it to put a stamp on an envolope and put the check IN THE GOD DAMN REGULAR MAIL FOR FREE or a small nominal fee. Yes I will wait 10-14 days no biggy I have many outs. MANY MANY 100's of books have been doing this for years. ANY THING LESS IS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF PLAYERS.

I could name many books that do free (anything over $500 fed-ex) as well as one free fed-ex a month. One a month seems reasonable and competitive. Hopefully this will all sort itself out.

I DO NOT THINK VIKING WAS BASHING, just giving a heads up on usurious book tactics. THREADS LIKE THESE HAVE CHANGED BOOKS POLICIES IN THE PAST AND IMO having caused forums like RX to do good for the player.

BTW - Viking has been nothing but complimentary of SKYBOOK in past threads raving about that great coffee and free 1/2 points.

my initial reaction was exactly the same, but I have come to find out that it is much more complicated than one might think....

perhaps you have noticed that books that do send out checks use Payment Processors and these payments are not sent from Costa Rica but rather from Canada most of the time.

apperently the regular mail system in Costa Rica is not what one might think it is.

also, the banks there have many restrictions (which is why these places use payment processors)....

Now, that brings us to when Neteller shut down.... when that happened the payment processors or clearing houses have become so overloaded with their existing customers, that they are not taking on any new customers.... so some places, unfortunatly, have been left without many options.

Of course, this is a growing pain for skybook and nobody is happy about it, not the customers not the book.

But given all they have done for us, perhaps a little patience in allowing them to sort things out is appropriate.

In my personal case I had 10K in skybook when the shit hit the fan, and they moved 5K over to the Greek for me for FREE!!!!!!

now I had to roll over once at the greek, but Skybook most definatly helped me out in avoiding costs.

WELL they (or a group of books could ACTUALLY GET TOGETHER) could send the checks once a week like 100 of them in a FEDEX package and mail in the US via an agent.

COST 15 cents extra per check.

agreed, but WE the customers need to give them a few weeks to settle things out and iron out the kinks (maybe this is exactly what they will do once things have settled down), lets not forget, there has also been some changes at SKYBOOK in terms of ownership and such, so I am sure they are evaluating everything as we speak.

could they have been more prepared for a neteller shut down? Of course they could of... some books are continuting without a bump in the road at all, others are struggling a bit more.
